ZhongTong Bus Holding Co., Ltd., as an excellent example of Chinese bus enterprise, is a joint-stock company with products specialized in large buses for about 40 years. In addition, it is one of the earliest companies enlisted in China.
The company has established world-advanced integrated Dutch BOVA production lines for bus engineering technology with annual output of 10000 H&M-class luxury buses. The company possesses state-level research center and the first national-level laboratories for bus technology. It acts as one of demonstrative enterprises for CIMS Project and National 863 Plan. It also sets up a postdoctoral program R&D center. In 1998, the company became the first bus enterprise certified by ISO 9001; the company also successfully passed ‘CCC’ (Chinese Compulsory Certification) certification.
Moreover, being as ‘The National Base for Entire vehicle Export’, the company has been recommended ‘Export Brand of Shandong Province 2006-2007’ and ‘Export Brand of year 2006’. It has successively acquired ‘Shangdong Famous Brand’, ‘Top 500 Chinese Information Constructors’, ‘Shandong Hi-Tech Enterprise’, ‘China Famous Brand’ and ‘Key Hi-tech Enterprise of State Torch Program’ etc.
The company has completed product series including city bus, travel coach from 6-meter to 13.7-meter with totally 8 series of more than 100 types. ‘ZhongTong Bova’, ‘ZhongTong Caesar’, ‘ZhongTong Creator’, ‘ZhongTong Top’, ‘ZhongTong Catch’, ‘ZhongTong Sunny’ and ‘ZhongTong Explorer’, etc., bear strong market competitiveness and are sold well both in domestic and overseas market. In 2003, Zhongtong bus was designated as exclusive bus for Miss World 2003.
The company has acquired good fame on the World Passenger Car Fair and gained titles as ‘Annual Best Shape-Designing Prize’, ‘Annual Best Safe Equipment Prize’, ‘Annual Best Luxury Touring Bus Prize’, ‘Annual Best New Bus Prize’ and ‘Annual Best Bus Builder’. In the first two sessions National Bus Championship, Zhongtong Bus won the ‘National Urban Bus Golden Prize’ and ‘National Highway Bus Golden Prize’.
